specialised parenting support

About specialised parenting support
Person-centred support for parents with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities to build confidence, strengthen relationships and navigate the challenges of parenting.

What we do
Our specialised parenting support program is delivered by experienced social workers who work alongside parents with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
Our approach is person-centred, collaborative, and strengths-based, with the goal of supporting parents to build their parenting skills, knowledge, and confidence while working toward the best possible outcomes for both parents and their children.
We support parents in a range of situations, including those who:
- Are planning to become parents
- Currently have their children in their care
- Do not currently have their children living with them
- Have children in informal or formal care arrangements, including living with family members or in foster or kinship care
Our social workers are trained in the Circle of Security framework and use this approach to support parents to strengthen relationships with their children.
ELIGIBILITY
- Have an intellectual and/or cognitive disability
- Live in the Brisbane North or Moreton Bay region
- Would like support to build parenting skills and navigate systems such as Child Safety or the legal system
