This submission was developed to offer evidence-based statements and perspectives to the NDIS Review Panel, aiming to contribute to the ongoing development of the NDIS. It reflects the experiences, opinions, and recommendations of CLA's NDIS staff and Team Leaders, derived from direct practice, staff management, and organisational leadership.

Part 2 of our submission to the NDIS Review Panel represents the voices of CLA-supported NDIS participants with intellectual/cognitive disabilities, along with their family and informal supporters. Initiated in March 2023, this review enabled CLA members and supporters to express their NDIS experiences through the NDIS Review Project. Our project worker conducted confidential, in-depth interviews with 26 individuals, both face-to-face and remotely, ensuring their informed consent to share their views with the NDIS Review.

This second edition of the CLP Manual offers invaluable insights into supporting people with learning difficulties. Divided into two parts, the manual covers definitions, daily life challenges, and practical approaches for engagement. It serves as an ongoing, collaborative project for sharing knowledge and best practices.

While investment continues to flow into crisis and statutory responses, community-based youth services that provide early intervention, prevention, and local support have been steadily declining. The findings make a compelling case that investing earlier, in neighbourhood-based services and trusted youth workers, can prevent homelessness from becoming entrenched and deliver better outcomes for young people, families, and communities

This is a case study regarding the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It was created to share what ARROS see as some of the challenges in effectively working with this group and offer some suggestions about what the NDIS needs to offer, based on years of specialist practice in this space.
