A group of peers standing strong against scams
Scam Awareness Group is a long-running project of people with disability who have lived experience of scams. We work in our community to keep our friends, family and peers safe from scams.
We make all sorts of resources to help people with disability understand and protect themselves from scams. We run workshops, as well as create multi-media content!

What Is a Scam?

Scammers are people who try to trick you into giving them your money. They might also want your private information to steal from you.
Scammers might get you to tell them your bank account information, your name, your internet passwords, or your address.

Scams Awareness Group is working to promote the Act Now, Stay Secure campaign. Act Now, Stay Secure is a cybercrime awareness project by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. It is designed to help keep Australians safe online and raise awareness of how to avoid cyber scams.
