Cultivating Resilience and Independence for a Brighter Future
CLA is committed to disability-informed, trauma-informed, developmental, and relational practice.
All our staff receive ongoing training and professional development in these practice approaches and skills.
We have been providing disability services since 1987, before we officially incorporated in 1989 and became a membership-based organisation.
People with a disability make up one-third of CLA’s Board (also called our Management Committee). Their family members and carers make up another third of CLA’s Board.
Historically, CLA has supported people with an intellectual disability. We also support people with a cognitive disability, psycho-social disability, acquired brain injury and down syndrome, amongst others.
