Developing employment for youth
About DEFY
Training pathways for Developing Employment Opportunities
Developing Employment for Youth (DEFY) is a project initiative funded by the Paul Ramsay Foundation that is made in collaboration between Community Living Association Inc. and Nundah Community Enterprise Cooperative.
DEFY offers 13-weeks of paid work experience and training, personal development, and individual support for young people aged 15-24 who experience barriers to employment. Our hope for this Developmental Employment program is to empower transformation for our participants through building valuable skills, strategies, resources, and connections, and most importantly develop confidence, agency and capacity for employment with referees who can advocate for them. Our mission is to bring young people with similar lived experiences and stories together to cooperatively co-create positive change for themselves and each other through gaining community, belonging, and independence.
